![]() This dissertation will streamline numerous cultural adaptations by analyzing the following films: James Whale’s Frankenstein (1931) Ishiro Honda’s Frankenstein Conquers the World (1965) and Paul Morrissey’s Flesh for Frankenstein (1973) to analyze how the text and the films are similar, and how they are different. Therefore, it is imperative to isolate the importance of this text amongst various other narratives in order to understand its socio-cultural significance throughout history and to further understand its importance vis-à-vis its adaptations throughout various artistic mediums as a means to express an individual’s or a culture’s anxieties. ![]() It has led to changes in changing literary movements, advancements in scientific experimentation, and questioning the philosophical, ethical and theological nature of human existence. ![]() Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is a rare and timeless piece of literature that has lived and breathed throughout various histories, geographies, languages, cultures and artistic mediums of the world since its very inception. ![]()
